  • -          Provide better customer services
  • -          Make call centers more efficient
  • -          Cross sell products more effectively
  • -          Help sales staff close deals faster
  • -          Simplify marketing and sales processes
  • -          Discover new costumers
  • -          Increase customer revenues.


Besides, using analytical CRM also can increase decisions. This is because they have supports back-office operations and strategic analysis and includes all systems that do not deal directly with the customers.

Factors that affect the CRM become success:
  • -          Clearly communicate the CRM strategy
  • -          Define information needs and flows
  • -          Build and integrated view of the customer
  • -          Implement in iterations
  • -          Scalability for organizational growth.






 All Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system is database, when a user enters or updates information in one module; it is immediately and automatically updated throughout the entire system.


SCM, CRM and ERP are the backbone of e-business, without all the system the business cannot achieve the organizational goal and objectives.

ERP systems must integrate various organization processes and be flexible, modular and open, comprehensive and beyond the company.

ERP solutions are growing because:
  • -          Is a logical solution to the mess of incompatible applications that had sprung up in most businesses
  • -          ERP addresses the need for global information sharing and reporting

Supply chain management is the important role in the organization business. Without SCM, organizational cannot get any material or documents or others for their company.

There are 4 factors that influence the supply chain management:

-       -    Visibility 
=supply chain visibility – changing supply chains requires a comprehensive strategy buoyed by IT, can use technology tools that help them integrate upstream and downstream.
= bullwhip effect – the misinformation regarding a slight rise in demand for a product could cause different members in the supply chain to stockpile investory.
 
-          Consumer behavior
= demand planning software – companies can respond faster and more effectively to consume demands through supply chain enhancements such as demand planning software.
 
-          Competition
= supply chain planning (SCP) software – while reducing inventory. SCP depends entirely on information it is accuracy.
= Supply chain execution (SCE) software – this could be a simple as electronically routing orders from a manufacturers to the suppliers.
 
-          Speed



= Supply chain management industry have best practices such as make the sale to suppliers, wean employees off traditional business practices, ensure the SCM system supports the organizational goals and others.

What can I conclude from this chapter ?

The organizational using transactional processing systems, decision support systems, executive information systems and artificial intelligence and data mining to enable for making a decision.


TRANSACTIONAL PROCESSING SYSTEMS



  • the basic business system that serves the operational level (analysts) in an organization.
  • That have been divide into 2 types, there are Online transaction processing (OLTP) (collect any information using technology to - (1) process the information corresponding to defined the business rules, (2) to store the information properly, (3) update the existing information reflect to the new information) and Online analytical processing (OLAP) ( manipulate the information to create business intelligence in support of strategic decision making)


DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS

  • models of information to support managers and business professionals during the decison making process.
  • The models that have been used by DSSs are :
-   Sensitivity analysis 
-  what-if analysis
-  goal- seeking analysis


EXECUTIVE INFORMATION SYSTEMS

  • using digital dashboard ( integrates information from multiple components and presents it in a unified display)
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)

  • stimulate human intelligence such as the ability to reason and learn.
  • the goal is the ability to build a system that can mimic human intelligence.
  • The common categories of AI are:
- expert system
- neural network
- genetic algorithm

What do you all know about ‘data warehouse’?



That are system that gather more than one database/ information from many different operational database that about business analysis activities and decision-making tasks.

The reason why data warehouse be important, because to aggregate various information into single repository for make decisions.

Basic that involve in data warehouse

E – Extraction, T- Transformation , L- Loading   ( process that extract information from external and internal database, transform the information using a common set of enterprise definitions, and loads the  Information into a data warehouse.)



Data mart which subset information from data warehouse.




In the data warehouse, information is multidimensional that contains layer of columns and rows.

Data mining – process of analyze data extract information not offered by the raw data alone.
When data mining users to perform, they need data mining tools that are uses variety of techniques to find patterns and relationships in large volumes of information and follow the rules while making a decisions.



If the organization have observe mistake they will apply ‘information cleansing or scrubbing’ to throw information that inconsistent, incomplete or incorrect.

Information that people use to support their decision-making efforts known as Business Intelligence enablers in technology, people, and culture.

about chapter 7

Information that we have collect will be stored in database, which store any information about various types of objects, events, people and place. Database model have divide into 3 types, there are hierarchical database model (information have organized into a tree like structure way that it cannot have too many relationships), network database model (flexible way of represent object and their relationship), and last but not least is relational database model (which store information in the form of logically that related with two-dimensional tables).

Advantages from database:
  • ·         Increased flexibility (physical view, logical view)
  • ·         Increase scalability and performance (scalability- refer how the system will be well to increase demand, performance – measure how quickly a system perform in any process)
  • ·         Reduced information redundancy (the duplicate of information or storing the same information in a multiple places)
  • ·         Increased information quality (integrity constraint- rules that help ensure that quality of the information)
  • ·         Increase information security (password, access level – determines who has access to the different types of information, access control- determines types of user access, such as read-only access)

Database Management system (DBMS), through this system that users and application programs can interact with database.


Data-driven Website which active website that kept constantly updated and relevant to the needs of the customers by using database.



Integration which allows separate systems to communicate directly with each other in multiple databases, through forward integration and backward integration (that takes information enter into given system and send it automatically to all systems).

CHAPTER 6 ( Valuing Organizational Information)




Assalammualaikum,

Today I will tell a little knowledge that I get from this chapter...
As we know, information can get from everywhere we want. For the organization, employees can get the information based on their observation, analyzing, and others from many resources to make any decisions. Through that methods also can achieve the organization’ goals and objectives if they apply the right tools to find information.

After I learn from this chapter, I am able to know that all have their own organizational information that have been divide into 3 section, there are information level ( goals and objectives of organization, revenues or profit), information format ( letter, memo, faxes and others), and information granularities ( reports for all salesperson, reports by department).



The information also have dive into 2, there are transactional information (airline ticket, sales receipt) and analytical information (sales projections, future growth, and trends)
Timeliness also important in the organization. Every information must inform immediately or up-to-date information. When the information immediate up-to-date, so the response of the information also can receive quickly.



Every employee must to make sure that information was correctly from any mistake such as:
·         Is the name spelled correctly?
·         Is the address complete including street, city, and code and state?
·         Is the summary information same with the detailed information?
·         Is each transaction, entity and event represent only once in the information?
·         Is the information current with respect to the business requirement?
Potential of the business will be effect by low quality information such as inability to accurate track customers, difficulty identifying valuable customers, marketing to nonexistent customers and others.

this chapter was explain about function of all chief officer in the Organizational structures in the information technology department..


  •                                    CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (CIO)
         oversees all uses of IT and ensure the strategic alignment of IT with business goals and        
         objectives.
  • CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER ( CTO)
responsible for ensure the efficiency of IT system such as throughput,speed,accuracy, availability and others..



  • CHIEF PRIVACY OFFICER
responsible for ensure the ethical and legal use of information..


  • CHIEF KNOWLEDGE OFFICER (CKO)
reaponsible for collecting, maintaining, and distributing the organization's knowledge.





Every officer of IT department must have ability to communicate effectively, good in strategic thinking and planning, understand business process and operations, negotiates or skills of sales, technical proficiency and others...

opinion about chapter 4

halo....

Through this chapter, I will conclude that the efficiency and effectively of IT system in the growing business activities are most important..

For efficiency of IT system about measure the performance of the IT system including speed,throughput,availability or others..

While for the effectively of IT system about the impact of the system on the business and activities include customer satisfaction, conversion rates,financial or others.

Besides, websites metrics,supply chain management metrics,customer relationship management metrics, business process re engineering metrics, and enterprise resource planning metrics will help managers to measure and manage their strategic initiatives.

Now,

in the business many competitor who like to compete for attract customer buy their product in the worldwide..I will inform what strategy that important to expand the business in the market place,there are supply chain management,customer relationship management,business process reengineering and the last but not least is enterprise resource planning..Without all of this,manufacturer,dealer,or others,does not know where to get the raw material,what the customer needs,how to fulfill customer satisfaction about their product or service..

For example for the process of insurance claim.Ali's car was become damage because involve in the accident,he call the insurer'customer service to get help from insurer..not take too long time,mybe in 15 minute,agent of the insurer come for cover the loss and send the car to the workshop that have been appointes by the insurance company..
